Thinking outside the box

Yesterday was a momentous day for both my wife and I. This was our first engagement session and we were trying something totally new, creatively.

Endeavoring to think outside the box, and provide a service to our clients that will leave them with the fondest memories, we aimed to recapture a moment in time that will, by both parties, never be forgotten.

Of all places to ask someone to marry you, you propose to the person of your dreams at Disneyland! How awesome is that?! Not only did our friend think outside the box, he blew the lid off of it and did something he and his new fiance would never forget.

As a photographer, I had to help relive this memories as best I could. I have to say, I am please with the results. I thought outside the box; tried something new; made my clients/friends happy. What more could I ask for?

How did I do it? All I did was use my off-camera flash (SB700), triggered by my camera’s on camera flash, to trigger the flash in my friend’s hands; giving the appearance that the ring he presented to his lady lit up everything!

Remember. Think outside the box. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.
