Are you Happy?

I recently went with a friend, to LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), and man o man did I have a great time. Not only did I enjoy the company, I enjoyed the art that was all around me.

As always, I had my camera with me. What brand you ask? It doesn’t really matter because as a photographer, often times, the best camera an individual can have, is the camera that they have on their person. Make sense?

Anyhow, I digress.

While walking around and exploring the minds of the many great artist and their works on display, I was awakened and enlighten to some ideas of what I interpret art to be. Art is subjective right? My answer is yes. What may seem amazingly breath-taking and beautiful to one person, may not necessarily be felt in the same way by another. So as my buddy and I were strolling through all the displays of subjectivity, I came up with an idea to create something that I have never created before.

Using a technique known as “multiple exposure”, I grabbed my handy-dandy DSLR, put in the right settings, asked my friend to strike a pose (more like sit down and look right at me), asked him to strike another pose (making sure his body did not move, but only his head), and click. I took the picture that I’m sharing with you now.

I said all that to say this. Be creative. Create what makes you happy and care not what others think of the art you make. I mean, we are making art from what we, in our minds, deem beautiful or aesthetically pleasing, right?

As long as you are creating, especially for self, remember that some may love it and some may hate it. That doesn’t matter. It’s all relative.

Blessings.
